The heinous crime took place when the six-year-old girl was heading to school on Saturday, according to the police.
Bijnor: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 26-year-old man in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The accused, identified as Shahbaz, has been arrested by the police.
Minor narrates ordeal to parents
As per the police, the accused belongs to Mirzapur village within the limits of Mandawali police station in the district. He allegedly committed the heinous crime when the minor was heading to school. He allegedly lured the minor to a dilapidated building and sexually assaulted her. The survivor, after returning home, narrated her harrowing ordeal before her parents, Bijnor SP Dharamveer Singh said.
Accused arrested, probe underway: Police
The accused has been booked under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. He was arrested on Sunday, and the minor was sent for medical examination, the SP said, adding that the case is being probed.
This comes days after a woman living in Kerala’s Kazhakootam lodged a complaint against a 37-year-old ‘godman’, alleging that he sexually exploited her and extorted money and gold from her after clicking her nude pictures. Based on her complaint, the Fort Police arrested the accused, identified Dileep.
The woman, in her complaint to the police, alleged that Dileep gave her ‘prasadam’ laced with sleeping pills and then took her nude pictures. He later used the pictures for blackmailing her. She alleged that he sexually exploited her and extorted money and gold from her. After she got engaged to another man, she was physically harassed by him, she alleged.
In yet another incident, a 17-year-old girl at gunpoint and later gang-raped her at a village in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Following a complaint by the girl’s father, the police registered a case against the trio.
