India’s Amit Khatri created history by winning the silver medal in the 10km race walk at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Nairobi on Saturday.
This was the first time that India has won two medals in a single edition of the World Athletics U-20 Championships.

Khatri finished second with 42:19.74 behind Kenya’s Wanyonyi, who finished first with 42.10.84.
“As it’s a high altitude so breathing problem for me. It was my first international competition and won silver for India. I am happy with silver at least I could fulfill the hopes of India,” said Amit after the race.Shop Casual Streetwear Rs 2172/-
This was the second medal for India at the World Athletics U-20 Championships in Nairobi after the mixed 4x400m relay team had won the bronze medal on August 18, 2021.
