Justin Trudeau has said he is ready to talk about sanctions during his virtual meeting with G7 leaders.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has agreed to talk about sanctions and said that the Taliban are terrorists and that is why they’re on the terrorist list.
Justin Trudeau also said that he is looking forward to having a conversation with fellow G7 leaders on the Afghanistan crisis.
G7 leaders of wealthy nations, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States are scheduled to meet virtually on Tuesday and discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
On the other hand, the British government has said the behavior of the Taliban will decide the relief on existing sanctions.
When asked about the ongoing evacuation in Afghanistan, Justin Trudeau said, “Canada’s focus remains on getting as many Afghans out to safety as possible.”
Taliban took over Afghanistan in August after two decades. The US and other countries are trying to evacuate thousands of people from Afghanistan ahead of Biden’s August 31 deadline for the complete withdrawal of US forces.
