The suicide bomber, who had attacked Kabul airport last month, was caught in Delhi five years ago, said the ISIS-K in the latest edition of its propaganda magazine.
The ISIS-K had carried out a suicide bombing attack outside the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul on August 26 this year. The attack, which took place when evacuation operations were ongoing at Kabul airport, had killed over 180 people, including 13 US Marine soldiers.
The ISIS-K claimed that the suicide bomber, named Abdur Rahman al-logri, was arrested in India five years ago when he had travelled to Delhi to carry out an attack “in revenge for Kashmir”.
ISIS-K’s propaganda in India
Meanwhile, the ISIS-K is continuing to publish its propaganda magazine since 2020. An edition was also taken out during the Delhi riots in February 2020.
Later, the Special Cell of Delhi Police had arrested a Kashmiri couple, Jahanzaib Sami (36) and his wife Hinda Bashir Beigh (39), for allegedly having links with the ISIS-K. Three more persons were arrested on similar allegations before the NIA took over the case and chargesheeted all of them.
So far, more than a dozen of people with suspected links with the ISIS-K’s propaganda magazine have been arrested from across India.
