The items will be auctioned after returning from space to raise $200 million for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As the first SpaceX all-civilian crew goes into orbit around Earth on a three-day trip with SpaceX, they will be carrying designated payloads and mementos that will be auctioned to raise $200 million for St Judes Children’s Hospital.
The Inspiration-4 team in a statement said that the minted NFT, a never-before-released performance of “Time in Disguise” from the band’s newest album, is among a handful of unique items that will go into orbit and be auctioned off on YellowHeart in the Inspiration-4 fundraising campaign.
“We are proud to support St. Jude and its Music Gives initiative,” said Kings of Leon in a statement, adding that “We are honoured to participate in this historic journey in an effort to raise money for St. Jude, and we’re sending all our best to the crew of Inspiration4.”
The song will be played by Inspiration-4’s Medical Officer Hayley Arceneaux aboard the SpaceX Dragon vehicle as they travel around the Earth at a speed of 17,000 mph.
INSPIRATION 4 CARRYING UNIQUE ITEMS INTO SPACE

The all-civilian crew will carry mission jackets featuring unique artwork by St. Jude patients, and original artwork by the Inspiration-4 crew members, 66 pounds of hops that, upon return, will be used to brew an “out-of-this-world” beer by the brewers of Samuel Adams.
The crew will also have a fisher Apollo 11 50th Anniversary space pen & coin set containing a piece of material from Apollo 11, a ukulele from Martin Guitar that crew member Chris Sembroski will play in space, a handful of plastic and plush STEM toys based on the five characters from the popular animated STEM series, “Space Racers”, the recent TIME magazine with the cover feature of the four crew members among other things.

INSPIRATION-4 CREWS FLIES TO LAUNCH SITE IN FIGHTER JETS
The four crew members arrived in Florida, from where they will be launched into space, in fighter jets on Friday. “It was a great morning of flying with my inspiration4 crew. Expect more flights around KSC as we get closer to the big launch,” Jared Issacman, who is commanding the mission said after landing.

The team arrived in four L-39’s and two Alpha Jets as they prepare for the launch on September 15. The mission will lift off from Nasa’s Pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida and head on a three-day journey around Earth with four civilians on board the Crew Dragon capsule led by billionaire Jared Issacman, the founder of Shift4 Payments.
During the three-day period, the crew will perform experiments looking at how space affects the human body. The crew will also collaborate with SpaceX, the Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) at Baylor College of Medicine, and investigators at Weill Cornell Medicine.
