Rohit Sharma scored his 1st overseas ton as India ended the day at 270/3 with a 171-run lead. Virat Kohli (22*) and Ravinder Jadeja (9*) are still on the crease. Earlier, Rohit Sharma (127) and Cheteshwar Pujara (61) dominated English bowling for two sessions taking India to a comfortable position. Bad light played spoilsport as the day was closed early with 45 minutes still left to play.
Ollie Robinson did fight back for England, dismissing Cheteshwar Pujara and Rohit Sharma in the same over with the new ball. Before that, Rohit brought up his first Test century outside India as India to help India take a 100-run lead. After an 83-run stand with KL Rahul, he brought up a century stand with Cheteshwar Pujara to put India in a good position. On a personal note, Pujara too completed his half-century.
India began Day 3 well with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma adding 36 runs in the first hour. Their 83-run partnership gave India a good platform. But he departed on 46. But Cheteshwar Pujara began his innings on an attacking note like the last one at Leeds. The duo took India to a lead.
