The Congress MLA from Bharatpur, Vishvendra Singh, is considered to be close to former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot. At the same time, Mahesh Joshi, who is also the chief whip of the Congress in Rajasthan, is seen as a Gehlot loyalist.
Meanwhile, Bikaner MLA Bulaki Das Kalla has been made the minister of Education and Lalchand Kataria the minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries.
The Congress MLA from Antah, Pramod Bhaya, has been allotted the Gopalan (cow nurturing) and Mines and Petroleum departments.

Sources told India Today that CM Ashok Gehlot could announce the appointment of parliamentary secretaries in a bid to quell discontent among Congress MLAs who had been hoping for a ministerial berth but were left disappointed. Those appointed as parliamentary secretaries are – Babulal Nagar, Jitendra Singh, Ramkesh Meena, Sanyam Lodha, Danish Abrar and Rajkumar Sharma.
Legislators, including those who switched from the BSP to Congress, were appointed as advisors to the government following the reshuffle. This is being viewed as an attempt to placate MLAs who supported the Gehlot dispensation during the political turmoil that erupted in the state last year.
