One of his protégés, Charlton D’Silva, remembers him as a “mentor to artists, writers and managers” and “a giant of advertising”.
The man who made media sales attractive. Taught us strategy and the value of reading . Stood by every one of those given to him. What I learnt from my few years with him has stood me in good stead across distant shores, over time and in battle with the best…. (He was) always welcoming and made us a part of his family. He never turned away anyone who called on him. A giant of advertising, shoulder to shoulder with the best the world has offered. A mentor to artists, writers and managers. Godspeed, to our dear Boss.

Debashish Ghosh, the Managing Director of International Markets at the Penske Media Corp in the US recalled his memories with Pradeep Guha as “always a wholesome source of learning, excitement, fun, and awesomeness”
Boss/ PG, was the one person in my life who I learnt everything from – in my personal and professional life. He was not just an inspiration. To me he was the only person in the world who I always wanted to be like, in every way, but perhaps could never come even close. Every interaction with him – however short or fleeting – was always a wholesome source of learning, excitement, fun and awesomeness! He was and will always be my Guru, my benchmark, my shining light of hope. His untimely passing leaves a very deep hole that can never be filled – in me and am sure in so many others who were fortunate to have their lives touched by his grace, presence, magnanimity and mentorship. But his teachings and his persona will never fade, never diminish – and his thoughts will continue to drive us forever. They say God wants the good ones for himself sooner – well PG was the best! And despite that vacuum that his passing leaves behind, I know, and I say this for many others that, our lives will always be filled with his everlasting presence. God Bless him and take care of him dearly – he was one of the most precious sons that he sent on this planet in our times.
For Santosh Menon, Chief Mentor at Brandmela, Pradeep Guha was someone who left an indelible mark “in more ways than once”.
PG to me was a boss who touched my life in more ways than once. Insisting on dropping me to Santa Cruz (after we dropped everyone else post a party) before returning to his home in Bandra. Turning up at my wedding reception in Chembur after I had given up hope. Inviting a handful of my colleagues for his soon-to-become very famous Diwali party and letting me bring my wife along as a newly-wed. When I discussed my plans and requested he relieve me in mid-1992 as I wanted to set up an ad agency, PG (when he understood I am doing it on my own steam without funding) told me that the TOI door is open if I fail and encouraged all my colleagues heading various teams to continue giving me creative work (which I was doing in-house for TOI) that they would usually give to larger ad agencies. Great sport. Great spirit. Great Boss. Goodbye legend!
