Devendra Fadnavis claimed that he would ‘burst a bomb’ after Diwali by making revelations about Nawab Malik’s ‘underworld links.
Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik launched a scathing attack on former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday, saying nobody had the guts to point fingers and claim he had underworld links.
Addressing a press conference, Nawab Malik said, “It was said that Nawab Malik has underworld connections.I spent 62 years of my life in this city. Nobody has the guts to point fingers and say that I have underworld connections.”
“Devendra Fadnavis was the chief minister of Maharashtra and held the home portfolio. He could have conducted a probe if he felt I had links with the underworld,” Nawab Malik said.
“It is said those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones at others. I don’t stay in a house of glass,” the NCP leader further said.
Nawab Malik’s remarks come a day after Devendra Fadnavis said he would “burst a bomb” after Diwali by making revelations about the NCP leader’s “underworld links”.
The war of words started after NCP leader Nawab Malik tweeted a photo of alleged drug peddler Jaydeep Rana with Amruta Fadnavis and claimed that he had links with Devendra Fadnavis. He also posted a similar photograph of Devendra Fadnavis with the alleged drug dealer.
On Tuesday, Nawab Malik reiterated that he had evidence of Devendra Fadnavis’ links with the alleged drug peddler.
On allegations that he was trying to weaken the FIR against his son-in-law by making such statements, Malik said no drugs were recovered from Sameer Khan.
Nawab Malik’s son-in-law Sameer Khan was arrested on January 13 this year by NCB in connection with a drugs case. Khan was granted bail on September 27, after eight months in prison.
