Goa Congress strongman and former Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro is likely to quit the party today and has announced a press conference later in the day.
Congress sources have said the media address has not been endorsed by the party, thus further fuelling the buzz that Luizinho Faleiro may change sides to join TMC.
Sources have said veteran Congress leader Luizinho Faleiro may announce his resignation from the Congress after having a fallout with the party leadership.
TMC has been in talks with Luizinho Faleiro and has made him an offer, said the sources. The TMC is preparing to make its foray into Goa and the party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Sunday publicly announced this at Mamata Banerjee’s campaign in Bhabanipur.
A team of TMC MPs Derek O’Brien and Prasun Banerjee visited Goa recently ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Members of Prashant Kishor’s IPAC are also camping in Goa to prepare the ground work for the party to make its mark in the BJP-ruled state.
