Khalistani terror group Sikh for Justice has released a video saying that it is planning protests against Prime Minister Narendra Modi outside the While House during his US visit.
The terror outfit has cited ‘violence against farmers’ as the reason for staging the protest.
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, General Counsel to SFJ said he would give Prime Minister Modi “sleepless nights in America.”
Sources in the security grid say that “SFJ does not have much traction. Several of their WhatsApp groups have been created for propaganda purposes, with several numbers of Pakistani, mostly ISI agents. Even in the US, they are trying to gather a handful of people to protest against the Prime Minister.”
For several years now, the group has uploaded objectionable content and opened websites on the dark web.
Several of them have been pulled down, as soon as they appeared. They try to lure farmers by announcing monetary rewards or encourage the youth to do anti-India activities with promises of citizenship in foreign countries. The other key strategy is to not give the group any importance but monitor its activities. Sikhs for Justice was banned on July 10, 2019, by the Government of India under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for anti-India activities on July 10, 2019.
On September 24, PM Modi will attend the Leaders’ Summit of the Quadrilateral Framework in Washington which will be hosted by US President Joe Biden. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga will also attend the summit.
This will be the first in-person Quad summit hosting the leaders of the four nations. In March, Joe Biden hosted the first-ever summit of the Quad leaders in the virtual format.
The group planned to use Google Play to spread its propaganda, and an application was uploaded on it for people to register for Referendum 2020.
Last year, the group had announced that the first casting of votes for the Khalistan Referendum will be held in London on August 15. But citing Covid 19 Pandemic, they had once again postponed it to October. Recently, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in a video revealed that Khalistan Referendum voting in Punjab will be held parallel to the 2022 Punjab Assembly Elections.
In the same video, Pannun had stated that if the UK, the USA, and the European Union recognise the Taliban, then SFJ will approach the Taliban for its support for the Khalistan Referendum.
Highly placed sources said, the intelligence grid recently held a meeting in Delhi with top officials from Punjab Police to discuss the issue of SFJ.
Especially since the banned organisation is trying to incite the youth of Punjab for subversive activities.
Officials in the security grid said, “Despite concerted efforts and backing by the ISI, the group has not been able to lure the youth. However, the propaganda tool is being used to hit out at the Indian Government.”
