India reported 10,126 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which was the lowest in 266 days. The active caseload also declined by 2,188 and now stands at 1,40,638, the lowest in 263 days.
India reported 10,126 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest in 266 days, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry. The fresh cases are also 11.6 per cent lower than what was recorded on Monday and brings the total caseload to 3,43,77,113.
Even the active cases have declined by 2,188 and now the total caseload stands at 1,40,638, the lowest in 263 days.
The country recorded 332 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said. With this, the Covid-19 death toll in India touched 4,61,389.
With a total of 11,982 patients being discharged in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries stand at 3,37,75,086. India’s recovery rate now stands at 98.25 per cent.
– Top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 5,404 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu with 841 cases, Mizoram with 730 cases, Maharashtra with 693 cases and West Bengal with 603 cases.
– Atleast 81.68 per cent of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 53.37 per cent of the new cases.
-Maximum casualties were reported in Kerala (262), followed by Maharashtra with 15 daily deaths.
-India has administered a total of 59,08,440 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,09,08,16,356.
-A total of 10,85,848 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
