The accused in the Hyderabad rape-murder case of a minor girl has been found dead on the railway tracks in Warangal.
The rape accused’s body was found on the railway tracks near Ghanpur station in Warangal on Thursday. The DGP also added, “Declared after the verification of identification marks on the deceased body.”
The police identified the accused with a tattoo on his hand. “It looks like the same accused. A final confirmation will come only after DNA and other scientific verification,” CP Hyderabad Anjini Kumar had told India Today TV earlier.
Meanwhile, Telangana ministers Mohammed Mahmood Ali and Satyavathi Rathod met the parents of the six-year-old girl on Thursday. They offered the family a cheque for Rs 20 lakh as ex-gratia.
The girl was allegedly raped and murdered allegedly by her neighbour in the Saidabad area on September 9. The ministers also assured support and help from the Telangana government.
Home Minister Ali on Wednesday asked police officials to take steps to apprehend the accused in the case as soon as possible and take further measures as per law, even as the opposition Congress, BJP, and others stepped up attacks on the TRS government over the incident.
