Four Intelligence agencies have come to know that the terrorists could use such explosives this time that sophisticated IED metal detectors could also find it difficult to trace the devices.
New Delhi: Ahead of Independence Day this Sunday (August 15), a terror alert has been sounded by the intelligence agencies.
It has been reported that four different alerts have been issued in a span of a few days and there are concerns of terror groups aiming to target areas from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir.
Live Hindustan reported citing the intelligence alerts that Pakistan-based terrorist groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed are plotting to disrupt 75th Independence Day celebrations.
Security forces on the Line of Control with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir have been asked to stay alert as these two terror groups could push terrorists into India through their launchpad there.
Intelligence agencies have come to know that the terrorists could use such explosives this time that sophisticated IED metal detectors could also find it difficult to trace the devices.
Army forward posts and key security installations are believed to be on the terror radar.
As per the inputs, some of the explosive devices and materials could already have been smuggled into India and these could be used to target crowded public places.
Independence Day and Republic Day are two occasions that are always on the radar of Pakistan-sponsored terrorists and security agencies leave no stone unturned to secure all key celebrations and installations.
This time, the focus is also on tackling drone threats on the occasion of Independence Day. The Delhi Police has already prohibited the flying of drones near key installations like the Red Fort, where the main event takes place every year.
The monument has already been put out of bounds for the general public till at least August 15.
