The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a scientist for allegedly planting a tiffin bomb to kill a lawyer inside the Rohini district court.
Days after a low-intensity blast went off inside the Rohini district court, the Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a scientist for allegedly planting a tiffin bomb to kill a lawyer who was supposed to attend a court hearing there.
On December 9, a low-intensity explosion took place at Rohini district court. A police personnel was injured in the incident.
The accused works as a scientist with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the police said.
According to the police, the accused was embroiled in litigation with the lawyer. He himself had made a bomb and kept it in courtroom number 102, the police added.
During interrogation, the scientist admitted before the police that he wanted to kill the lawyer and therefore he planted the IED.
The Delhi Police Special Cell found multiple clues and evidences against the scientist, including CTVT footage and dump data, based on which he was arrested.
So far, only the scientist’s name has cropped up in the police investigation. Further investigation is underway.
