A panel of three doctors said they were unable to ascertain the cause of death of the nine-year-old Delhi girl who was allegedly raped and murdered in Delhi Cantonment area.
A panel of three doctors has informed Delhi Police that they were unable to ascertain the cause of death of the nine-year-old Delhi girl who was allegedly raped, murdered and forcibly cremated in Delhi Cantonment’s Nangal village area.
As the body was cremated before the arrival of forensics experts, they could find only the ankle, some parts of lungs and the heart. The samples were sent to the panel of doctors.
The girl’s parents had alleged that she was raped and her body was forcibly cremated by a priest who had falsely claimed that she was electrocuted. The priest had also asked the parents not to inform the police, saying getting the cops involved would only complicate the matter.
CRIME BRANCH TO INVESTIGATE THE CASE
The Crime Branch, under the leadership of DCP Monika Bhardwaj, will investigate the rape and murder case of the 9-year-old girl in Delhi Cantt.
Delhi Police PRO Chinmoy Biswal said the decision to transfer the case to the Crime Branch was taken for an expeditious and scientific investigation.
On Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the family of the girl. Kejriwal has also demanded a death sentence for the guilty.
“The rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl in Delhi is very shameful. It is very important to strengthen Delhi’s law and order situation. The guilty should be given a death sentence,” Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted earlier.
The rape, murder, and forced cremation of the 9-year-old Delhi girl has triggered a nationwide cry for justice.
