India’s Covid-19 vaccination anthem will be launched at 3 pm today by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Hardeep Singh Puri, and Rameswar Teli.
The audio-visual song has been produced by musician and Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher. The anthem will be launched at Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi at 3pm.
The vaccine anthem is dropping as India nears the milestone of 100-crore Covid-19 vaccine doses administered since the rollout began in January this year. Top sources in the health ministry project that the target of 100 crore doses could be achieved by October 18-19.
India has administered a total of 97,18,13,548 Covid-19 vaccine doses so far. Out of this, 69,36,99,468 are first doses and 27,81,14,080 are second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 8,32,279 doses were administered in India, out of which 3,37,797 were first doses, and 4,94,482 were second doses.
Till date, more than 73 per cent of the eligible population in India has received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccines authorized for use in the country. The Ministry of Health also plans to commence a mass campaign to encourage people to take their second dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
